The End of an Era

No, your eyes are not decieving you - Dad had to throw his Free Cell game out.  It was starting to do goofy things like cut out in the middle of a game and go from 100% to 75%.  He "nursed" it along for about a week but I guess it breathed it's final breath last night.

I guess he'll have to settle for Yahtze or Solitaire.

My "new" Ideal Master Bathroom

When we went to dad's Aunt Jennie's 90th birthday party, we stayed in a little "mom and pop" motel in St. Cloud that we've stayed in before.  We got the very last room and it was one that wasn't quite finished, according to the motel hostess.  I LOVED the bathroom so took pictures of it and surprise of all surprises, dad really liked it too.  In fact, he approved of duplicating it in our master bathroom.

This vanity was the tallest one I've ever seen - too bad I didn't have a tape measure so I could measure it.  I plan to contact the motel and see if they will measure for me.  I don't think I'll put a coffee pot on my vanity, however.  I twould like dad to just build a box to set the vanity we have now on and put a door in front.  Holly suggested using that space to put my toilet paper and I think it's a fantastic idea.
They had a modular walk-in shower.  I need to price them and then decide if I want to try to do ceramic tile or a modular shower.  I don't think I would do the tile myself.  If my John-boy lived closer, I'd try to talk him into doing it for me.  See the little bench in the corner - I want that too so I can sit down and shave my legs or prop my leg up and shave.  Since we have the tub in the hallway bathroom, there really isn't a need to have one in the master.
Finally, this is the ceramic tile - love the color - love the size.  This I think I could do myself since our bathroom is barely large enough to turn around in.

I did not take a picture of the "high rise" stool but that is also a must. It even had a self-closing lid which is OK but not necessary.

I even liked the toilet paper holder - not the stand alone one but the one on the side of the vanity and the double towel bar.

Well, that's all I have to say for today.  Have a good weekend!

PS:  Grampa and Sam are cleaning the inside of the van and car today so we're getting ready for our trip - too bad Chase isn't here to help.  Gramma is cleaning the house.  It is BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!! outside today - supposed to get into the upper 80's this afternoon but it is 1:00 and it's still 74 in the house.  Love it!!!  Thank God for His awesome blessing!!!

An Afternoon at Washington Pavilion

Yesterday we spent the HOT afternoon at the Science Museum at Washington Paviliion.  Before we went in, Chase and Sam had to show me how strong they are.  They can lift a car - supermen - both of them!!
These supermen are also astronauts.  Wonder if their flight took them to the moon or to Mars?

Sam is also a master at hang-gliding.

Putting the dinosaur back together took both of them.  In the end, Gramma had to help get the poor dinosaur's head on and in the right place.

 Task accomplished!!
Haven't decided what we'll be doing for the afternoon yet.  We had a wonderful half hour rain this morning but the sun is back out now and the temps are back up plus the extra humidity.  The rain smelled good, felt good and we are so thankful for it!!

Have a great day everyone!!!!

Chase and Sam

I convinced the boys to color pictures for Katie the other morning.  Actually they were more than willing to do it.

In the afternoon we went to play BINGO with Great-Grandma.  Sam won the first game and was quite thrilled with his nickels.  The rest of us didn't win anything - we were all very close several times, but in BINGO, close just isn't good enough!!!

I'm not sure if Sam is happy or what.  They really wanted to be able to climb on the waterfall but had to settle with just putting their feet in it.  Holly, Chase will soon be as tall as you if he hasn't already passed you up.
Once again, that's it for today.  Hope you all have a wonderful week!!!

Chuck-E-Cheese

As you all know, it's a bit of a tradition for Aunt Jen and Aunt Jan to take the kids to Chuck-E-Cheese so we decided to go right away so we wouldn't get so busy that we couldn't fit it in.

 Pizza was actually quite good.

Grampa and Sam at the shooting game - looks like Grampa is a bit confused, doesn't it?  Well, he was.  Sam, of course, knew exactly what was going on.
This guy was very good at keeping the helicopter in the air.
Sam  LOVED this driving game.  He even shared his tokens with Aunt Jen and Gramma so we could try it.  Aunt Jen said it made her a bit dizzy but Gramma found the solution to that, just go slower.  Chase came by and told me I had to put the accelerator "to the floor" or I'd never win.

At one point, Sam came running over to the table and said, "Gramma, go drive my car for me. I have to go."  Off he ran to the bathroom so I took over for him but only for a few minutes.  He didn't even have time to wash his hands so after the game was over, back to the bathroom he went.

Our traditional picture in front of Chuck-E-Cheese looking into the sun. I wonder how many of these pictures we have.
That's it for today. Time for lunch, even though Grampa took them for ice cream this morning for breakfast dessert. They had to go along with him to watch the cows while he unloaded branches at Uncle Dick's pasture.  I think Grampa is taking them swimming this afternoon for a little while and then to Beauty and the Beast tonight.  They've chosen grilled cheese and soup for dinner so that will be easy.

Have a great day!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Breakfast with the Princess on the Porch

Can you believe it - I  made a  big breakfast - eggs & sausage with toast for my boys and we ate out in the new screenhouse Grampa put up for me. There was a nice breeze and it was wonderful.

Katie, this is Princess Chase and Pretty Princess Grampa Peter.
We are now off to work and the boys are going to Aunt Jan's for the day.  Tonight we're going to Chuck-E-Cheese.  Aren't you all envious?

Have a great day!!!!

PS: When Sam got dressed this morning, he was so excited - he thought Mom had forgotten to pack underwear until Gramma burst his bubble and found them in the front suitcase pocket.
