The Archer

Last night after we got back from Ikea, I stopped to watch Chase at his 4-H Archery Night.  What fun!!  When he lets go with that arrow, it just WHAPS!!! into the target.  They shoot 12 rounds of 5 arrows each - he got several in the little white circle while I was watching.  Way to go, Chase!!!

Pulling the arrow back.......

 and away it goes..........
 into the target...
Dad and I went to LaCrosse on Wednesday for a picnic with some of our friends from Arizona.  We left about noon on Tuesday and stayed overnight in Lanesboro, MN - the Bed & Breakfast Capital of the world.  We stayed in a nice little motel with some lovely grounds.  The little shops downtown were all closed by the time we got there and they opened later in the morning so we weren't able to go visit them.  We went to a little restaurant in town and had meatloaf.  I (and Dad agrees) think that I make the BEST mealoaf around but this was pretty darn close.  We were so full we couldn't even fit ice cream in.

Our picnic was fun, other than it was so HOT that by the time I reached the hotel that night, I was sick.  There was a very occasional breeze which felt wonderful but other than that, it was 95 and high humidity and that was in the shade.

This was a bush at the hotel we stayed at.  Isn't it pretty?
I'm busy decluttering my compter room today and it's going quite well.  Now, just have to go through the boxes in the middle of the room but that may take a couple of weeks since they're full of pictures.  Anyone want to help?

We have a reprieve from the heat this week and it's GREAT!!!  Have a wonderful week ahead.

Backyard Lilies

I happened to look outside in the corner of the backyard and saw these beautiful lilies inbetween dad's tomato plants.  Or are the tomato plans inbetween the lilies???   When it's as hot as it has been, I don't go outdoors very often which is why I didn't notice them before.

Aren't they beautiful?  I looked this morning, they are almost finished blooming but he has lots of other plants in the yard that are just as lovely.  We enjoy the flowers every summer until it's time to go away for a few days and then dad has to worry about making sure they get water.

Here's one of his tomato plants.  I didn't realize he was going to plant any tomatoes until I noticed them one day by accident.  As it turns about, he must have at least 4-5 plants -- not sure what he plans to do with them when they all start producing.  Lots of tomato sandwiches, I guess.
That's it for this morning.  We hope to leave for Lanesboro, MN this afternoon and then on to other places and adventures for the rest of the week.  Stay cool and enjoy your week!!!

Love to all,

PS:  Holly, how's the berry picking going for you this year?

Can you see the differences?

In lots of magazines, they have two pictures and they ask you to find the differences.  This is my version of that activity.  Can you find the differences in these two pictures?

Can you believe that I finally did it?  DeAnn, you tell me if I LOVE something, I can keep it so I did just what you said.
It feels rather sparce in my living room now.

Have a great week.  Love

Great Grandma

As long as all 4 of the great-grandkids were here, we decided to take some pictures with Great-Grandma.  We're missing Nathan and Colton but I'm not sure when we'll have the chance to have all 6 of them together at one time.

We took these in the courtyard at Bethany Meadows.  Amy, I wish you and Kurt would have been here also - next time you visit Grandma, I'll come and take some pictures of you two with her.

Just had to document the "long" hair!!!

Oldest daughters:

What could this sweet, innocent little princess have done to deserve a scowl like that?

I'm still missing this little girl - BRING her back!!!!!!

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!

Happy 2nd Anniversary to these two very special people!!!!  God knew what He was doing when He brought you together!!  Love you both

Grampa and I took the kids to the fire tower in Brandon one evening.  Dad climbed up, took a few pictures and went right back down.  The tower was swaying a little in the breeze.

When we went to the cities for Mr. Hoff's funeral, we "crashed" a gathering at the Goff's and guess who we found.  What a wonderful afternoon with some of my most favorite people.  Thank you, Linda G!!!
Who could ask for better friends than these?
I miss this little girl - please bring her back!!!!
