Dad's Hiking Day

Today was Hiking Day at Wagons West and Dad decided to sign up. There were 21 people who went on a "nature walk" at Saguargo Nat'l Park East - a park we had not been to. Dad said it was very nice. They ended up walking 4.8 miles - Dad said it was an easy walk and wasn't sore at all. In fact after a short rest after getting home, we decided to go to the pool for a while.
Part of the hiking group.

Uncle Rich went along - here he is in his fancy hiking hat.

This is Roger and June Parker who live right next door to next in a 5th wheel trailer. They live near Abilene, KS and are very nice people. June loves our grapefruits and since I can't have a lot of them and dad doesn't like them, she brings us homemade cookies in exchange for the fruit.

Ruby Munson (white hair) was probably the oldest lady on the trip. Dad said she was at the end of the group but she kept up and made the whole 4.8 miles. Peg is with her - she's a very interesting lady who runs marathons and will be leaving for Hawai to run one very soon. She talked about riding her bike home to Minnesota from Arizona the first year she was here; however she needed to get her car home.

A dead cacti next to a young one.

Interesting bell cacti. Just maybe I'll go on the next hike which will be the middle of February.
Tonight we went to Pied Piper Pizza but unfortunately I didn't win anything tonight. After we all order, they pull out tickets and give away 7" pizzas, salads, bread sticks, sodas and sometimes wings. I think they have good pizza and it's a fun way to meet new people who have come to the park.
That's it for this week. Hope things are going well for you. DeAnn, two weeks from now you will be here!!! Hopefully, you will too, Amy. Send Allegiant a note to save two spots for you and Chase!!!
Love to you both, MOM
