On our way down to Arizona, we stopped for lunch at a DQ and they had a little gift shop. Peter found this little pink plaque and thought it was soooo funny. I told him that since he found so much humor in it, he had to buy it for me. (It was NOT cheap.) There was only one there or I would have bought several - for my sisters and my daughters. I know they would all have been thrilled to get it.
We arrived in Tucson on Saturday afternoon and unloaded the van, turned everything back on and took a quick nap. We had Wienerschnizel for a late lunch and had pizza with Rich and Henrietta for dinner. They graciously invited us over - had a nice time and got back to the trailer about 10:00. Up early for Sunday morning worship and our usual trip to What-a-Burger for biscuits and gravy. Price has gone up from last year and I didn't think they had as much sausage. Coffee is good, though and it's FREE for senior citizens. Not too many things in this world any more that are totally free.
This is the view I see when I sit in my recliner in the living room. Sunday there was snow on the top of the mountain - beautiful. I love the Arizona mountains. We had been having some problems with erosion in our back yard since we purchased our trailer and have been "discussing" options to remedy the situation with the board for the last two years. Volunteers from the park got together and put in a brick wall for us with all rock backfill before we arrived. It is beautiful or at least I think it is. Can't wait til Peter builds our arbor which will block off the apartment complex behind us. Now I wish I had taken some "before" pictures so you could see how nice it really is.
I've been working on the January newsletter and it's at the proofreader so as soon as I get it back, I'll send it on to the office and then I can start doing some "fun" things like looking for new flooring. We have some very special company coming in February and I'd like my new flooring to be in and maybe even my new window treatments. I will take "before" and "after" pictures of them.
Well, that's it for now. Not much has been happening yet. Oh yes, I almost forgot. Dad and I played a game of Shuffleboard this morning with another couple. Dad needed some practice because he has a game on Friday and another on Monday. We were ahead for five frames; then the other couple went ahead and the score was 36-28 with one frame left. Dad didn't do anything and I had last shooting. I got 18 points and we beat them 46-36. It was GREAT!!!!
Love to all,
Gramma and MOM
