Washington or Bust

Right at noon on Monday, we took off for Washington - right on time!!!!  Along the way, we stopped at Wall Drug - had dinner at the Cactus Cafe across the street and then wandered through the "backyard".  Found these fun statutes along the way.  I have pictures of you girls and I think even one of me that Dad took right after we were married on this big jackalope.  By the way, when we drove into Wall, the sign said 104 degrees.

Then on to Sturgis and Uncle Rich and Aunt Henrietta's.  We got there in time for some ice cream.  Sam had to use the bathroom, took one look at the big jacuzzi tub and said - Can I take a bath in there?  He and Chase had a good time - Uncle Rich even put bubbles in it.

Tuesday Uncle Rich wanted to show us around Sturgis.  This is a picture mural from 2011 Sturgis Rally that was on the side of a store.  The boys each bought a souvenier - Chase got a t-shirt and Sam got himself a do-rag - really cute!!
This is a big cross that is made up of all old car parts that have been welded together - it was very unique but also beautiful.  Interestingly, it's on the grounds where the big concerts will be held during rally week.

Then it was on to Wonderland Cave.  Dad and the boys took the tour.  Sam said he liked the cave as did Chase.  Grampa said it was OK.

Then back to Uncle Rich and Aunt Henrietta's for pizza, an evening ride to find some deer - found 11 on the way into town and 13 on the way back and finally ice cream before bedtime.

Today we left Sturgis at 9:00.  Stopped at the Wyoming Welcome Center - one of the nicest welcome centers I've ever seen.  Arrived in Bozeman about 6:00, had Chinese buffet for dinner and then of course, we "hit" the swimming pool running.  After a couple of hours, boys took showers and are now watching the Olympics and will be lights out very shortly.
These are my Sturgis biker guys on the mountain lion at the Wyoming Welcome Center - aren't they tough?
All three of my boys are being VERY good!!  That's it for today.  It was in the 90's all day today so we are looking forward to cooler temps tomorrow as we head for Idaho and Washington.

Have a good day!!!
